When the original
Resident Evil game came out, it was
considered by many as the new standard in
horror action games. Since then around 5
other Resident Evil games have come out
to date. Resident Evil creator Shinji
Mikami has maid the franchise into one of
the best selling series' ever. Since the
release of the original, the sequels were
considered even better, setting a higher
standard. No game has come close to being
equally or even better successful than
any of the Resident Evil game. Well, some
have come pretty close but couldn't beat
it.
Climax Graphics tried
to make Blue Stinger as close to Resident
Evil gameplay as possible. But it failed
miserably. The graphics weren't very
good, the camera angle was totally messed
up and the gameplay was pretty boring.
Now, another developer, Jaleco is giving
Resident Evil Code Veronica a run for its
money. The graphics come pretty darn
close to Code Veronica. The plot is the
same also, you got to try to save people
from the horrible zombies. You'll be a
army man on a rescue mission, you'll have
to try to save as much citizens as
possible.
The storyline is
pretty similar to the Resident Evil games
also. A terrible disease has spread
across a ship, changing the crew members
into freaky looking zombies. Some of
these monsters seriously freak me out!
After looking at the pictures of these
ugly zombies, I had a bad nightmare. Just
joking...but seriously, the zombies do
look pretty nasty.
Control on the game is
the same as all the other horror action
games like Blue Stinger, Dino Crisis,
Resident Evil 1,2,3 etc. Shoot, punch,
block, and run. So, you'll easily learn
the controls of Carrier.
Jaleco has kept things
quiet about the gameplay, options, and
more things about the game. So, the sad
thing is I have no clue about the
gameplay, options, and everything.
Carrier will be coming
out around February 20, lets hope it
doesn't get delayed. Carrier is just one
of about 50 Dreamcast games being
released around this spring. The bad
thing is Resident Evil: Code Veronica
will be released the next month. And I
think people are going to hold it off for
Resident Evil Code Veronica. Lets hope
that doesn't happen, I'm not saying
Resident Evil CV is a bad game. Carrier
is a very good game, and seems equally
exciting as Code Veronica. Carrier has
its advantages over Code Veronica, and
Code Veronica has its advantages over
Carrier. For example Carrier has the
close up targets, and very good graphics.
Resident Evil CV has its movie like
camera angles, and releastic skin
texture. Code Veronica is a very
anticipated game, unlike Carrier. Very
few people know about Carrier. Lets hope,
Resident Evil CV doesn't make people
forget about Carrier.
