House of the Dead, the
most famous light gun game ever, and now,
AM1 has made a sequel for the arcades and
Dreamcast. DC's first light gun game
wasn't really a hit at launch mainly
because Sega messed up with the light gun
shipment at launch.
House of the Dead 2 is
swarmed with tons of cool things, and
tons of zombies. The zombies don't die
with just one shot, you've have to shoot
them about 3 or 4 times. There are also
tons of paths to go through, after
finishing one stage, a new path in the
same stage will open.
House of the Dead 2
has a training mode, arcade mode, boss
mode and some other modes. Training modes
will set you up for the game by shooting
tons of zombies coming after you. Arcade
mode speaks for itselft, lets you play
the arcade version of the game. Boss mode
will automatically take you the boss
mode, lets you see how your next boss
will be.
If you play original
mode, you could collects things to help
through the game. Sega has added
"Original" mode in the DC
version that gives you a chance to pick
up items. The best way to kill the
zombies is to shoot them at the head. As
you play again and again, you will find
new paths, and it'll get easier to kill
the zombies. There are tons of paths to
go through, so every time you play, it
won't be the same old path.
House of the Dead 2 is
the best light gun game I've ever played
in my life, and I've played lots of light
gun games. Although House of the Dead 2
is the only light gun game out at the
moment, buying the Light Gun for this
game is worth it. Besides, Eidos is
planning on bringing Berzerk soon, I
believe that uses a light gun.
There really not much
to say about the game, expect you have to
buy this game. House of the Dead 2 is an
instant DC classic, I think Sega should
add some more stuff to the game and
rerelease it.
