There no other better
group of people than Bizzare Creations to
develop a racing game. Don't get Bizzare
Creations mixed up with Blizzard
Entertainment, because Bizzare hasn't
been around long. Most of the members of
this talented people are the same people
that made the Formula 1 series for PSX.
When Sega first came up to the company,
they asked Bizzare to make a Formula 1
game. But the president of Bizzare
Creations wanted to try something new, so
they ended up making Metropolis Street
Racer.
Metropolis Street
Racer has already been in development for
nearly a year. The game has come a long
way since it was last showed off to the
public at E3 1999. The game wowed
everyone at E3, but since then Bizzare
has kept things quiet until the Tokyo
Games Show. With what I've seen, the game
has come a long way.
With an already
crowded amount of racing games on the
Dreamcast, what makes this game so
special? This preview will tell you why
this game stands out over the other
racing games.
To start it off, this
game has graphics much better than Gran
Turismo 2000 for PSX 2. There will be
lots of different courses, based on three
cities, London, Tokyo, and San Francisco.
Bizzare Creations has taken over 32,000
pictures and around 30 hours of movies of
these cities. Each city will be designed
as accuratly as possible with every bit
of detail similar to its real life
counter part. Each city will be 2 square
miles and will include all the famous
city landmarks.
There will be around
28 unlocked cars and about 5 locked cars.
All the cars will be convertibles,
Bizzare chose convertibles, because they
want the players to see the detail inside
the cars. So far around 20 manufacturers
have been licensed, mostly European
manufacturers because Bizzare is British.
Cars range from the new Ford Mustang to
the Fiat Barchetta to the Toytoa MR2.
There will be three
modes, Classic Arcades, Gang Battle Mode,
and Multiplayer. Classic Arcades will
allow you to pick from Single Race and
Time Attack. Gang Battle, which is
probably the best part about the game
allows you to have a racing challenge
across Tokyo, London or San Francisco.
Multiplayers is expected to allow you to
race over the internet.
This game sounds
amazing, the graphics look incredible,
and I can't wait for it to come out. But
this isn't the only Gran Turismo 2000
killer coming, don't forget about Sega
GT. Click on the amazing images to your
right to see incredible footage of the
game. |
