Infograems list of unsold
Dreamcast games just keeps growing. From the very
horrible Expenable to the very odd Pen Pen
Tricelon. But Infogrames is a large
developer/publisher, and i'm pretty sure they
have a lot of people who are smart enough to make
good games like Outcast 2. The new line of games
from Infogrames seems to be promising, with
V-Rally 2, UEFA Stricker Pro 2000, Silver, and
Outcast 2.
Silver was just recently
released for the PC, and it seems to be selling
well. The gameplay is very similar to Final
Fantasy VII, well that's what everyone says. I
haven't played the PC version yet. Developer
Spiral House is 80% finished with the DC version
and they've already given plans for a sequel.
Silver is expected to hit DC shelves across
stores in North Ameirca around July 2000 or
August 2000.
Althoug the game is on a PC,
the gameplay is console style like every other
RPG on the Dreamcast. Unlike other RPG's, in
Silver there will be about a dozen characters
fighting at once. Again, unlike the other RPG's,
in Silver you'll have to use the onscreen cursor
and click where you want your character to go.
You'll have to also use the cursor to fight
enemies by click on various things in the
background. The DC version will be taking
advantage of the DC power by adding hi-res 24-bit
colour backgrounds. Battles in the game are fully
real-time. When battling, you click on things in
the background and use the buttons on the
controller to to combos.
Silver sounds like a very good
game, its probably teh closet a Dreamcast owner
will get to a Final Fantasy game. But wait,
there's more. The game will also game network
capabilites allwoing you to play online.
The announcement to bring
Silver to the Dreamcast was a very good more by
Infogrames. If there's one thing the Dreamcast
lacks, its RPG games. By summer 2000, there
should be around 7 RPG's for the Dreamcast
including Silver. But how much of them will have
online gameplay.
If you want to see the review
of the PC version, I'm sure you'll find a site
like vgf.net or ignpc.com taht will have a review
on the game.
