AM2's Virtua series is
probably Sega's most famous series right
after Sonic. Yu Suzuki's 3D fighting game
is the best ever fighting game made by
Sega. When the original version was
released for the Genesis, it was
considered the beginning of new age for
fighting games. It sure was, Virtua
Fighter 1 was the first ever 3D fighting
game. Since than, other 3D games were
made based on Virtua Fighter. So, the
next time, you play Soul Calibur or any
other 3D fighting game think about how
Virtua Fighter 1 has helped make this
game.
There was little
changes made for Virtua Fighter 3TB from
Virtua Fighter 3. Basically more smooth
graphics, running at 60 frames per second
and the addition of Team Battle. Team
Battle allows you to battle with two
characters, similar to Marvel vs. Capcom.
There was a good
reason from Sega for holding the game
back from launch, it was to add the
versus mode. They've smoothed out the
graphics, added great amount of music
fitting into the stage background and a
very good fighting system.
Here is list of the
incredible things Virtua Fighter 3: Team
Battle offers:
-13 full 3D fighting stages.
-Elevation and positioning dramatically
change fighting strategy.
-12 original characters including two new
characters.
-Stunning detail such as clothes ripple,
eyes track opponents.
-Multiple camera angles including 1st
person viewpoint.
-Highly sophisticated fighting engine for
incredible depth.
I think this game is
incredibly entertaining, there are tons
of different moves to try, with 12
different characters. With some positives
come some negatives, like the limited
amount of characters, only 13 (if you
include Dural, who's a hidden character).
The graphics is no where near Soul
Calibur, but its far better that Power
Stone. I don't know if I should consider
Virtua Fighter 3TB or Soul Calibur as a
new stardard for all future fighting
games.
Virtua Fighter 3TB is
probably not the best of the series, but
still a very good fighting game. If your
planning to buy a fighting, think about
the games out there, Dead or Alive 2,
Soul Calibur, Marvel vs. Capcom, Power
Stone, and off course Virtua Fighter 3TB.
If your the average fan of fighting
games, I really wouldn't recommend this
game. Its better off you go with Soul
Calibur, its much more easy. But if
you've been playing fighting games for a
while, you'll love this game. Tons of
combos, special moves, and stuff. Even
the average wrestling fan will love this
game, because it has a lot of wrestling
moves.
