Recently, there have
been announcements of about 4 soccer
games for the Dreamcast. Two of them have
already been released in Japan, Sega's
"J-League Let's Make Pro-Soccer
Club!" and "Virtua Stricker
V.2000." There are also two
third-party made soccer games in
developement, Rage's "UEFA Stricker
Pro 2000" and another by Interplay.
Well, Sega has planned
to bring an updated version of Virtua
Stricker 2000 to North America and
Europe. Called, Virtua Stricker V.2000.1,
they've made some graphics enchancements,
and other improvements to fit the needs
of North American and European soccer
fans.
Virtua Stricker
V.2000.1 is good start for a first soccer
game. The game won't go under the 2K
series, instead under the Virtua series.
Why? Virtua Stricker V.2000.1 is more of
a arcade soccer game and less of a
simulation soccer game.
The graphics on this
game isn't anywhere near the 2K games.
But still, very detailed graphics, enough
to impress the average soccer fan. Sega
has added bicycle kicks, headers, slide
tackles, and other cool soccer moves to
the game. The graphics on each player is
no where near the real life counter part.
But it is very complex, and most of the
players have different faces. Also, the
players are motion captured from real
soccer experts. The sound effects are
very good, it actually sounds like
there's a bunch of people cheering or
booing for you. The crowd also do the
Mexican Wave time to time.
In the game, there will
be 32 countries participating. From South
Korea, Spain, Croatia and other
countries. In the game, there are six
stadiums to choose from. They could've
added more.
Soccer fans will love
this game, but I'm not a soccer fan and I
really don't care much about this game. I
really don't think this game is going to
be a big succes, but it probably will
sell well. |
