Sega has made a Dreamcast port for their arcade third person shooter, Zombie Revenge. The game didn't make a lot of noise when it was on the arcades, but lets hope that changes with the Dreamcast version. After the disappointing failure of Dynamite Cop, Sega's sequel to Die Hard Trilogy. Sega tried again to make a successful third person shooter. It looks like they've succedded. Zombie Revenge looks very similar to other Resident Evil games, and it plays almost like Resident Evil too. But Sega didn't try to make this came look like a Resident Evil game. This game is suppose to be a third person view of House of the Dead 2. The game has all the zombies and bosses like in House of the Dead 2, but with some add-ons.
The entier game of Zombie Revenge takes place in the House of the Dead universe, in some areas you'll notice that. If you played the arcade version, I'm pretty sure your going to buy the game. Who wouldn't, the arcade version was amazing. If your wondering why does the game have such weird graphics, there's a good reason for that. The game is suppose to be based in the last millenium, around the 1970's. That is why the game has some weird graphics. But the detail on the game is very good.
The details in the game go from reflection of water puddles, to rain drops. If you shoot one of the boxes, the entire area will blow up. Making your head go on fire, the graphics when the explosion happens are awesome.
You start of the game by picking from three characters, there's computer wizard girl, an ex cop, and some weird looking afro dude. There are three action buttons, punch, shoot, and block. I prefer punching the zombies. Keeping hitting the punch button around fifteen times and you could see the zombie die fifteen times before he hits the ground. As you kill each zombie, you'll get weapons or health. Then you'll be able to improve from there.
This game is a lot of fun, its everything I expect in an zombie shooting game. But there's more to it that killing zombies, you'll have to find disks, save people, and beat the crap out of the boss. Time to time, you'll get into a one on one battle like in a fighting game. That part was one of my favourites.
I know there are a lot of people (including myself) who like third person shooting games involving zombies. This is an amazing game by Sega, and AM1. But when going to buy this game, don't forget about Carrier and Resident Evil: Code Veronica. This is a great game, but I don't know how its going to compare to Resident Evil: Code Veronica or Carrier. But if your a House of the Dead fan, you got to get this game.
